On October 6th, the Shops at Willow Bend is hosting a fabulous event featuring live musical entertainment, delicious food, and more than one hundred wineries.
We’re talking about the Plano Food & Wine Festival, and highlights include:
Brushy Creek Vineyards – When Brushy Creek Vineyards was established in Alvord, Texas, it was the first winery to open in the area since Prohibition. All of the wines are made using local grapes, and the harvest takes place in August when it’s often more than 100 degrees. Wines include Oaked Chardonnay, Muscat Dry, and Trebbiano.
Firelight Vineyards – Firelight Vineyards is a boutique winery owned by George and Meredith Eaton. It was born out of their passion for growing high-quality grapes and making superior wines. Their large family often lends a hand, and wines include Shooting Star, Bottle Rocket Red, and Roman Candle.
OG Cellars – Found in the rolling hills of northwest Wise County, OG Cellars uses 100 percent Texas grapes in every bottle. The winemakers use Old World techniques, and all of their creations are made by hand. Wines include NV Temptress, Bianca Dolce, and Albarino.
Maylee Thomas Band – Maylee Thomas is known for blending gospel based blues with soul driven rock and touches of pop. She’s a must-see act and is often found touring across the state with her band. Maylee’s repertoire includes “More Than Enough,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” and “Crazy’s What I Need.”
Layne Elizabeth – Hailing from Denton, Layne Elizabeth is an indie-folk artist whose tone sets her apart from the other musicians in her genre. She has performed since the age of ten and has opened for Nashville recording artist Kane Brown. Her songs include “Wake Me Up,” “Hey Girl,” and “I Will Wait.”
